Drake Circus TV Ad Wins Gold

The Drake Circus Christmas television advertisement, which included input from PR Works, has beaten off tough competition from around the UK to win a rare gold at the prestigious Cream advertising award.

Owned by British Land, the Westcountry’s leading shopping centre’s Christmas advertising campaign won the Low Budget TV/Cinema Advert (£20,000 max) award, which was presented at a glittering awards ceremony in Birmingham.

The advertising campaign was created by retail development marketing and creative agency MadisonSoho, with support from the Drake Circus marketing team and Westcountry creative agencies Pangaea TV, Mostly Media and PR Works.

The TV ad uses animation to show Drake Circus as a key retail centre, with a wide choice of leading retail brands under one roof, with convenient parking and extended opening times to 9.00pm over the festive period.

Greg Lumley, general manager at Drake Circus, commented: “Television advertising is an important part of the marketing mix for us at Christmas, and as such it is vital that we get it right. The gold Cream award shows that our creative team has what it takes to produce a potentially winning campaign, and which reflects the ambitions for the centre of our owner, British Land.”

The advertisement is currently being aired on ITV Westcountry.
